Tree Springtails

These tree springtails (Vertagopus arboreus) breed pretty quick. They are tiny, reaching a length of 1.8 mm. The adults of this species is a nice blue in color and the juvenile stages are a more violet hue.

They often cluster together in groups with a large number of indivivudals. As their name might suggest, they appreciate bark and leaf litter.
